Recommend courses that you have played: good value and welcoming 19th!!
WEMBLEY - yes that's Wembley - a beautiful golf course in Perth Western Australia.
PAINSWICK, in Gloucestershire, with its 'bomb crater' protecting the 1st green. This is a very interesting and tightly laid out course. It follows the Cotswold escarpment and provides some fabulous views of the Severn and onwards into Wales. You will do well to hold your game together for the whole round to record a decent score. Must be played at least twice!!
TREVOSE, on the North coast of Cornwall near Padstow, with magnificent views of the sea from the first tee and a beautiful dog leg 4th hole with the green overlooking the sea.
Play it on a spring morning in May!!
CUSHENDALL, a delightful 9 hole course in the Glens of Antrim where you will always find a welcome - and recommendations for othercourses to play. This course has a difficult par 3 2nd hole, which requiresa a long, accurate, iron off the tee to a plateau green. You will do well to make par!!
BALLYCASTLE, Northern Ireland, a lovely course of two distinct parts. The inland holes follow the river and return to the links which afford stunning views of the bay and beach. Not an easy course. The 19th is excellent!!
This is the 9th Green and 10th tee overlooking the bay.
OAKE MANOR , near Taunton, with its stretches of water. An interesting and pleasantly testing course, where a good pal of mine - 'I don't play much' Pike - still recounts with pride a gross 78 - and with glee the sight of my ball disappearing into the front garden of the house bordering the 17th fairway. Must play it again now it has matured and now that he is back playing again.
